bwin works well with Ubuntu, there is no client software to download as it all runs in the browser. Registration is quick and painless with just the essential details asked for. I was able to play immediately without any delays or email verification.
Once registered, you will need to select Play Instantly because the Downloadable client is for Windows only. Bwin have even included a Tux icon above the button to show it is linux compatible. The poker rooms are implemented with Java so you will need to confirm the security dialog that appears when you first play.
